Tilapia, sometimes called “St. Peter’s Fish”, it is believed to be the fish with which Jesus filled St. Peter’s net to overflowing on the Sea of Galilee. Coleson’s Catch® Tilapia is found in warm (above 45 degrees F), fresh water lakes and rivers and is one of the healthiest fish available in stores today. Coleson’s Catch® Tilapia Fillets are one of very few farm raised fish species which have almost no mercury content. This is due to its natural diet being only plant based and its short life span. Tilapia have been introduced into several U.S. rivers and lakes as a natural biological control for aquatic plant overgrowth such as duckweed, algae and Eurasian milfoil.
